El superlativo marca el extremo dentro de un grupo: el más, el menos. Misma regla de longitud que el comparativo, pero con the delante: adjetivo corto → the + adjetivo + -est (the tallest); adjetivo largo → the most + adjetivo (the most interesting). Dos detalles que el hispanohablante olvida: el the es casi obligatorio, y después suele ir in (no "of") para el lugar o grupo: the best restaurant in town.

Ortografía de -est
Acaba en -e: +st (large → largest). En -y: → -iest (happy → happiest). CVC: dobla (big → biggest).
