En inglés los sustantivos se dividen en contables (los puedes contar de uno en uno: a book, two books) e incontables (masas o conceptos que no se cuentan: water, information, advice). La distinción importa porque decide qué cuantificador usar (much/many, little/few) y si puedes poner a/an o plural. El escollo del hispanohablante son las palabras que en español son contables pero en inglés no: information, advice, furniture, news nunca llevan "-s" ni "an".
Sustantivos contables
Se pueden contar, así que admiten a/an y plural: a car, three cars.
Cuantificadores: many, several, a few, a couple of, plenty of.
Sustantivos incontables
Sin plural ni "a/an": se dice some water, some advice, nunca "a water", "two advices".
Frecuentes: water, air, furniture, news, advice, information, work, bread, money.

ENfew/a few + countable · little/a little + uncountable. Without "a" = not enough.

ENlittle/few = not enough; a little/a few = enough: I have little money (can't buy it) vs I have a little money (enough).
ESlittle/few = insuficiente; a little/a few = suficiente: I have little money (no llega) vs I have a little money (basta).
