Este grupo reúne expresiones para decir que algo está a punto de pasar o que ya es hora de que pase, y suben mucho el nivel de tu inglés escrito. Para lo inminente: be about to (informal), be on the verge/brink of + -ing (formal) y be due to (previsto). Para "ya toca": it's time + to + infinitivo en general, pero it's about time + pasado cuando quieres marcar que algo se ha retrasado demasiado.

Estar a punto de

be about to + infinitivo (informal): I'm about to leave.

on the verge of + -ing (formal); on the brink of para algo grave: on the brink of collapse / bankruptcy.

be due to + infinitivo (previsto): The train is due to arrive.

Ya es hora

it's time + to + infinitivo (general): It's time to go.

it's about time + pasado (retraso): It's about time you called.

El error típico del hispanohablante

on the verge of lleva -ing, no infinitivo: on the verge of winning, no "to win".

Tras it's about time usa pasado: it's about time you left, no "you leave".
