Tres expresiones casi idénticas que significan cosas distintas, y aquí caen muchos. Used to + infinitivo habla de un hábito pasado que ya no existe: I used to smoke (antes fumaba, ya no). Be used to + -ing es estar acostumbrado a algo: I am used to getting up early. Y get used to + -ing es el proceso de irse acostumbrando: I'm getting used to the cold. Fíjate: la primera lleva infinitivo; las otras dos, -ing.

ahoraused tohábito pasado · ya noI used to live in Spainantes vivía en Españabe used toestado · acostumbradoI'm used to the rainya me acostumbré a la lluviaget used toproceso · acostumbrarseI'm getting used to the foodme estoy acostumbrando a la comida
Mismo caso (mudarse a Londres): antes / ya acostumbrado / acostumbrándose.

    Las tres formas

used to + infinitivo = hábito pasado (acabado): I used to play tennis.
be used to + -ing = acostumbrado: I'm used to waking up early.
get used to + -ing = acostumbrándose: I'm getting used to it.

    Used to vs would

Para hábitos pasados would también vale — pero solo con verbos de acción, no de estado: We would go camping ✓, "I would be tall" ✗.

    El error típico del hispanohablante

No mezcles las formas: used to play (infinitivo) vs used to playing (acostumbrado) — sentidos distintos.
En preguntas/negativas pierde la -d: Did you use to...?, I didn't use to...
