p.ej. She had left before I arrived.
Pasado perfecto en inglés: past perfect simple, estructura y ejemplos
El past perfect simple se forma con had + participio pasado y no cambia con ninguna persona: I had seen, she had seen, they had seen. En negativa es hadn't (He hadn't finished) y en pregunta had pasa delante del sujeto (Had you met her before?).
Compara: I had written the report (está terminado) y I had been writing for hours (importa cuánto tiempo).
When we arrived, the film had started.
Unas palabras te avisan de que el orden importa: already, by the time, before, after, until y when. Ejemplo: By the time he called, I had gone to bed.
I woke up, took a shower and left va entero en past simple.
Present perfect versus past perfect
I have lived here for ten years sigue siendo verdad hoy. I had lived there for ten years when I moved se refiere al tiempo que pasó antes de la mudanza.
