La más frecuente es to (hacia un destino: go to work). Luego afinas: into = entrar (walk into the room), out of = salir, onto = subir a una superficie, towards = en dirección a sin llegar. Detalle clásico: los medios de transporte van con by (by car, by train), pero a pie es on foot.

Tabla de preposiciones de movimiento con ejemplos
To marca el destino y from el origen. I walk to work. She comes from Italy. Into es entrar y out of es salir. He ran into the house. She got out of the car.
We walked through the park. They swam across the river. I ran along the beach.
Up y down marcan subida y bajada. She ran up the stairs. He jumped over the wall. The bus drove past my house. We walked around the lake.
Preposiciones de movimientos en inglés: in frente a into
In indica dónde estás e into hacia dónde entras. I'm in the kitchen. I'm going into the kitchen.
Con on y onto pasa lo mismo. The book is on the table. She put the book onto the table. Y con at y to. He is at the door. He is walking to the door.
The car was driving towards the city. Con arrive no se usa to. Se dice arrive at the airport o arrive in Madrid.
I live in Madrid. Las de tiempo dicen cuándo. I arrive at eight. Las de movimiento dicen hacia dónde. I'm going to Madrid.
At sirve para lugar (at the door) y para hora (at six). In sirve para lugar (in the box) y para periodos (in July).
