El pronombre one tiene dos vidas. Como pronombre genérico y formal equivale al "uno/se" impersonal español: One should always tell the truth (uno debería...). Y como sustituto evita repetir un sustantivo ya mencionado: I need a pen — do you have one? En plural es ones (the red ones). Es un recurso muy útil para no sonar repetitivo, algo que el examen valora.

    Dos usos

Genérico (formal) = la gente en general: One must be careful.
Sustituto de un nombre: the blue one, the small ones.
Sus formas: posesivo one's, reflexivo oneself: One must believe in oneself.

    El error típico del hispanohablante

Tras un adjetivo el inglés pide one/ones: the big one (no "the big").

    One vs you

En inglés del día a día you sustituye a menudo al one genérico: *You feel watched suena menos rígido que One feels...*.
